trying to install hard drive to other computer!?
i'm sorry but i'm confused..i am and old school guy who was used to DOS and i do not know how i can make this other computer recognize this other hard drive..
it starts up,i can get to safe mode and i tried the set up menu,it made it worse.anyone have the patience to walk me through this?
ill throw you a bone or buy you a drink or BOTH!!!

Windows registers itself to the motherboard. The older software works fine when transferring the hard drives, but with XP and newer versions of windows, the software that is installed on that hard drive will be specific to the motherboard.
You can always use it as a secondary drive, in order to save data. I recommend backing up all important data, then installing a new copy of the software on that drive.

It's a 50/50 shot if that will work due to drivers. It will fail more times than not in my experience if you going between 2 totally different computers and manufacturers. Most of the time I just install Windows on the new computer using a different hard drive. Then I install the old hard drive as a slave and get my files off of it.
