Religiously speaking, do you think this video hurts or helps prop 8?
Ciprian M, that's a good point, but I can't help but wonder if it's not well deserved. Should the gay community just turn the other cheek and let the religious community say whatever they want against them and not say anything on their own behalf?

I'm from Europe, so I think I have at least less biased view: it will increase the border between gay and non gay. Also, it makes the gay persons to look pretty friendly, when the religious persons to look stupid. Based on looking stupid, I think that most religious persons will feel attacked by this clip, and also by the image (of blind looking) that they have, will make them to react most virulently against gay persons.
Answer with my point to your point: religious faith (any, not only Christianity) is not about equal rights, but about following the God and the doctrine around. Equal rights are part of democracy, but not necessarily part of any belief. Religiously thinking, which is the faith that you know that accept same sex marriage? Religiously thinking the abortion is a murder, but still no state law say that things are so grave, even a crime. (hope you've got my point)

Too late. Proposition 8 was already on the California ballot. No California ballot measure will be numbered '8' again for some 20 years (if I recall correctly), when the ballot numbering scheme causes a reset back to '1'. That is in place in our constitution to avoid problems of voter confusion about which measure had which number. The constitution was changed back in the 1970's to avoid the numbering problem. The next 'prop 8' will be many years ahead and could be about anything. Taxes probably.

I love it... I think it points out all of the issues that aren't really issues... If you want to ban gay marriage... Stop getting divorced... eating shellfish and pork... and lets not forget to kill those who work on Sunday because the bible tells us so! Hey is that preacher working on Sunday?
