Why would brother and sister cats fight?
Ok, I have two cats, brother and sister. They have fought in the past. It hasn't happened very often. It seems to happen when one of them get frightened by something. Tonight, it was my fault. I was outside watering some plants, and accidentally squirted the front door. I guess my boy cat was asleep, because before I knew it, he was at the door hissing and growling. Now, he's in another room, and my girl cat is out here with me. She's fine, but he still seems to be a little upset. Why do brother and sister cats like to fight each other? And....Do you think they fight because they get frightened? Is there any way to stop them from doing this? Like I said it doesn't happen often, but always happens at the worst time for me...(when I'm sick or very tired).
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks :)
my cats are 4 years old. Like I said, they don't fight often. It only seems to happen when one of them gets scared....so, my thought was: I scared one of them when I squirted the front door with water while watering my plants.
Also, they're usually very loving toward one another, and never hurt each other.
Both of my cats have been spayed and neutered for a couple of years now.

I have a brother and sister pair of kittens (13 weeks old) and they fight constantly. But it's normal play-fighting (though sometimes a bit rough) and just part of their normal cat behavior. They are often very cuddly and affectionate, hugging and grooming each other. But it always turns into wrestling.
I have worried about them fighting as they get older and wondered if they will still be affectionate sometimes. How old are your kitties?

They will fight regardless if they are related. They actually have feelings just like humans. They get annoyed and angered. There could be a stray walking around outside your home that they have seen and are on guard to protect their home. You got yourself a good "watch cat". LOL You can try the Feliway and also spray some catnip on the carpet/rug or their cat toys. It helps them to calm down. I noticed the catnip works the best. Are they fixed? If he is not, that could contribute to the problem as well. They seem to be all cocky when they are not fixed.

Cats dont realize that they are brother and sister. But anyways Do they fight real bad to the point were one or both could get hurt? I do not know why your cats fight but maybe try researching about this.

She became under pressure from seeing the outdoors cat. Cats are great pets, yet whilst they see a stranger of their territory, they'll swap on even their own housemates. i've got had cats all my existence, and that i'm 31. they're territorial animals and that they want a 2d to relax down. whilst they try like that, that is terrific to place them in a time out via placing apart them, in case you are able to, without hurting your self. otherwise, toss something close to them to make a noisy noise and scare them or squirt them with a water bottle. the two are suggestions my vets have given via the years.
