If you have nothing of importance on the old slow thing the easiest way to fix it is to wipe it clean and reload your software and start new would also help with the speed of it to get all the old stuff you don't really need on it anymore and you would be suprised how much spyware and cookies load up on computers over time even ones your spy bots don't find. If you have things on it you want to keep just copy to an external drive before wiping it clean. This is what I do with my computers.

SFC, I had the same thing happen to me only after 2 weeks of having my then new computer. They ended up having to pull the hard drive just so they could reformat it. In spite of everything, they could never find anything on it to say why it acted the way it did.

I had Norton anti-virses 2008, Spyware Blaster and Yahoo's anti-spyware on my computer at the time that it happen. And I run the anti-spyware and the disk clean up every night before I shut it down.

You may end up having to do the same thing to yours that was done to mine.

I have had that virus so many times and each time it is a job to find it in my files and get rid of it.

It disables many spyware programs and won't let you download others.

Do not click on that warning next time . It is not real. Move it to the side and let your scan finish . McAfee will show you where the file is located. Once they were in my temporary files and to disable it I had to change the name of it because It woud not let me delete it.

If you can download Malware bytes that is where the fix is .

    Good luck

Re-install IEexplorer. If the problem doesn't go away there's definitely a virus/hacker/spywares in your PC.
