First, of all, If you go from being in the marines to joining the Army, you enter as a specialist (or as a PFC, if you were a Lance Corporal when you were discharged from the Marines. You have to be a promotable sergeant or a staff sregeant to be a drill sergeant. That will take at least acouple of years. You also have to go through the Army's Dril sergeant school.

You could join the Army and become a Drill Sergeant. However Drill Sergeant is not a rank, it is a job. The rank is still Sergeant. Even if you were to join at that rank though it is unlikely you would be assigned as a Drill Instructor. That should be a position for someone with at least a little longer familiarity with the Army.

Not right now, Army drill sergeants are at saturation levels and they won't be needing any for a while.

Being a former Marine has nothing to do with it. If you join the army and are of rank, you can voluteer for Recruiting duty. Doesn't mean you'll get it.

If I remember correctly, anyone who becomes a Drill Seargeant needs a certain number of years in the training field before they can be considered. That means a few years working AIT before you could even be selected, and even then, youd have to be pretty good to be selected to teach.
