How do I safely delete files to prepare my laptop to sale?

I want to sell my Mac Laptop. How do I prepare it to clear all my data so that the buyer can't access my files or get any information about me. I have a lot of private data on there now.

Format and reinstall Windows to it's original factory condition...

It will wipe your hard drive clean...

    GOOD LUCK !!!

You can format all the drives. I believe the buyer will not be so much interested in recovering your deleted data.

  • First, Copy all of the files onto an external hard drive, or back them up externally somehow. Next, download a file shredder(Google it) and "shred" all of the sensitive files.

Try out one of these three. they are free. Shred your most sensitive files at the highest Pass-rate possible. then with your other docs, keep it a little bit lower so that it doesn't take as long.
