How cross should I be? Job filled within hours?

I am having a moan!

I just phoned up abt a job posted TODAY (on jobcentreplus) and NCTR who are handling it said it is already filled - they sent over 2 (TWO) cvs received EARLIER today and weren't accepting any more.

jobcentre plus is not a great site to look for work on...

in the last 5 months i have applied for 16 jobs i have seen new on that site and 6 of the companys didnt have jobs going and didnt know why the job was advestised and 4 of them said the job had been filled a week or so ago and didnt know why it was up on the site again...

They may have said that because they didn't like the way you sounded over the phone. Sorry.

Or, the job was filled already and they posted the ad to make sure they covered all their bases.

It depends on whom was looking at the jobs earlier that time. Some times there isn't a real position. Sometimes with union regulations at some companies, they are required to have a job posting posted, but are not required to hire anyone externally. It is sometimes the way things are handled.

chances are the job was filled internally. The hiring party may have already had their candidate in mind but were required to publicly post before they filled it.

and yeah, be very cross and then get back to the job search and remember, the more "nos" you hear, the closer you are getting to that "yes"

    Good Luck.
