I have a 1999 chevy lumina car 3.1 engine?

why does the change oil soon light keep comeing on even though my car is serviced regularly?

    yeah, that lamp can be reset without a scantool. just use your accelerator pedal. with the ignition on and ENGINE OFF, pump your accellerator from 0%, idle, to 100% wide open throttle, 4 times within 5 seconds. the lamp should flash a few times and go out. do this after every oil change or have the lube jockey do it for you.

    The light is based on mileage and not on whether you did the service or not. There are different procedures for resetting the light. Some of them require a scan tool.

    a short in the system someplace or a bad sensor.

    could be something wrong in your oil pan area....I suggest you take it to a local shop to get it looked at. Or your gauges could be a bit messed up as well

    dont worry about it its just you have a problem with the electricity in your car...just do as your machanic says
