Has anyone ever taken that stupid stupid test when applying for Macaroni Grill?

I just applied for Macaroni Grill and then I took this test that they gave me and I literally was there for almost 2 hours because they kept screwing up on it only to find that I didn't pass. The test was easy easy math and a bunch of subjective "do you agree or disagree" questions! Does anyone know what the hell they are looking for or why I couldnt pass such an easy test?

Lots of places have those tests now, they are designed by Industrial/Organizational psychologists to indicate whether or not someone will be a good trustworthy employee. They are not always right, but over a large corporation they are very valuable for finding employees who will benefit the company. One trick to taking them is that no one is perfect, on the personality (agree/disagree) questions, try and be honest, you want to sound like a good person but if you try to sound like mother Teressa most tests will flag you as being manipulative.

These tests are being increasingly used by nearly all retail and service companies as part of their hiring process. So you should probably get used to it and improve your ability to answer.

I've even been required to take similar tests when applying online. I guess it helps them weed out who they're going to call for interviews.

They're looking for the right answers to the "easy easy math." It's not the test that got $50.00 - $34.73 wrong.

Apply somewhere else - you don't like them and they don't like you!
