Do we all come here with maps, but the trick is to learn how to read and use them?

Right now is your map leading you up a steep mountain or gliding you down a gentle river (or other)? Which one of these aspects of the journey do you like best?

I don't thumbs down! All answers are accepted and appreciated :)

You are describing your conscience otherwise called the Light of Christ which will guide you back and help ypu through this world.

You learned that the Light of Christ would provide that guidance. It gives light and life to all things. It prompts all individuals throughout the earth to distinguish truth from error, right from wrong. The Light of Christ is not a person. It is a power and influence that comes from God our Father through His Son, Jesus Christ, and, when followed, can lead a person to qualify for the more definitive guidance and inspiration of the Holy Ghost. You were told that transgression would weaken the influence of the Holy Ghost, but it could be restored through proper repentance. You rejoiced to know that the obedient who would receive the proper ordinances with the necessary covenants and remain faithful would inherit celestial glory and live in the presence of the Father and His Son throughout the eternities.

A few years ago I stood on the spot where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake in 1431. Young Joan of Arc, one of the great heroines in history, became the unlikely standard-bearer for the French army in the Dark Ages, long before the gospel was restored. Joan had the Light of Christ and also the courage to follow its promptings and make a difference. Joan was a peasant girl who could neither read nor write, but she was bright. Long years of war with the English had impoverished and divided her country. At 17, sensing her life had a purpose, she left home, determined to help liberate her oppressed country. Naturally, people scoffed at her ideas and thought she was a little crazy, but in the end she persuaded them to let her have a horse and an escort to go and see the king.

My map is leading me up a steep mountain. I have so much to do that I cannot get it all done.

I see life as a big pie. There is a slice for your social life, a slice for your spiritual renewing, a slice for your health concerns, a slice for your family.a slice for work, and a slice for yourself.

Somehow my map got lost in the pie and it has not been found. I am stuck on the piece that has to do with work.

This place is where I study the Bible by answering and researching questions. Hopefully I will start back down the mountain soon.

Hey, you're so right!..Yes, we all come here with maps. Only some of us don't even bother to unroll it and read it.

My map is taking me on a really arduous journey...sometimes it's a steep hill, sometimes a rapturous valley....I come across reindeers as well as dragons. But I take them all in my stride.

What do I like about it? - Well, the ever changing views and vistas and the ups and downs, which makes the journey so full and enjoyable.

People speculate endlessly about the future, but sometimes their vision is more idealistic than realistic. Where can we turn for a reliable view of what lies ahead?

Consider an illustration. Imagine that you are traveling by bus through a foreign land. Because the area is unfamiliar, you begin to feel uneasy. ‘Just where am I?’ you wonder. ‘Is this bus really headed in the right direction? How far am I from my destination?’ By consulting an accurate map and by observing the signs outside your window, you can find the answers to your questions.

The situation is similar for many today who feel anxious as they think about the future. ‘Where are we heading?’ they wonder. ‘Are we really on the road to global peace? If so, when will we reach that destination?’ The Bible is like a map that can help us to answer those questions. By carefully reading it—and by looking closely at what is happening outside our “window” on the world scene—we can learn much about where we are and where we are heading.

Bible counsel can guide us in our day-to-day decisions, and it can help us to map out the course of our life over the years to come. (Psalm 119:105) When we earnestly seek out such counsel and apply it, then Jehovah is our Guide. We are walking with God.

I have read about orthographic projections a few times and have done a bit of aero-photo interpretating but am still not quite sure about what is on the map ? The isogonic chart has changed quite a bit since I last saw it so its no wonder the world is topsy-turvy(especially since I am no longer there to steer it correctly!)

I found out late in life that I was reading some one else's map.

The first thing I learned about the map was that my outer eyes could not read it. It is a map of the inner heart & can only be read by the heart. My map helps me to unlearn the lies I think I see so that I may have the vision which is my birthright. In order to read the map one must release all they believe they know & assume to be true. I may have a map of sorts, but the territory is me.

    Blessings!

    That's an interesting question.

If I could imagine a map I hope it leads to happiness in every moment. Makes me think of the Garth Brooks song "The River". I'm not particularly a big fan of country but that song has always stuck with me.

Here's a good video of the song

I feel that in order to look at your map we need to be a full conscious beings and the Atlanteans took that away from us a long long time ago. but soon in the near near future (so to speak) we will once again be full conscious being taking are place as Galactic humans.

then we shall be able to see our maps and tap in to all of consciousness and be in contact with other aspects of our self, what people term past lives because all your souls lives are happening all at once.

also you can change the template of your map at any time.

I don't have a map. I do have a conscience but it only tells me when I'm going the wrong way and gives no clue as to what the right way might be. Maybe it has to be that way for us to have free will (or at least the illusion of it).

The map is written each moment. It is more of a history than a roadmap. Better for looking back than predicting the future. More Lewis and Clark than Triple A. :)
