Cost to have a website created and maintained?

I am looking into getting a website created for my small business. It will need to consist of a few pages outlinging what we do, with some pictures of our work.

I was just wondering if someone could give me a rough estimate of how much this would cost to have created, and also how much we could expect to pay for the maintenance on the site. (Updating of pictures, changing of info etc, minimal work)

That really depends on how much of the work you want to do yourself, or if you want to outsource all of it.

I'd recommend taking a look over the current projects on eLance.com That could also be a good place for you to find a web designer to do your website. Look at the current projects and you can see the budgets that buyers have set aside for them, etc. If you put a project up there as a buyer, you will get bids from different freelancers/companies with prices and you will be able to select which you want to go with.

If you're willing to do some of the work yourself (and also get more out of it...) then I highly recommend SiteSell (see http://www.sitesell.com/Joanna11.html .) That's what I use myself, and it really guides you step-by-step through the process of building a small business website that works for your business needs.

If you'll need a good solution for anyone how starting out with collection then to kick-start your accomplishment with women you will require that guide the Tao of Badass from here https://tr.im/5YGXY .

All you need to know you will find in that guide: appeal, rapport, seduction and relationship harmony

With the Tao of Badass you can learn that final accomplishment comes to those that can “start to see the matrix” which as Joshua Pellicer, the guy behind this book, sets it, is viewing which stage of the place of relationship you are in although you are inside and once you know what period you're in, you'll learn how to effectively understand your way to the next.

Most domain names are pretty cheap. The rest could be free if you can do it yourself. Try Microsoft Office Live you get a domain name a very basic page editor for free for 1 year (at least for me with a new laptop)

    Hey

Websites can either be cheap or expensive depending on thats involved in its creation. There are two types "static and dynamic." Static sites basically means to be still or non changing; to only display information like text and pictures. Most simple sites on the web are static, they have a simple layout with a banner and some text info and a few pictures. These type of sites are not so expensive however like some people have said before it will greatly depend on how much you have done yourself like whether or not your company has a logo or company colors, content, etc. If the designer has to do everything his or her ownself then what is supposed to be a simple $100 - $500 dollar site could jump to be over $1,000. This is really expensive for a static website but is understandable if you're making the designer basically create the image for your entire company; that is a BIG DESIGN JOB!!!

The other type is a "dynamic site," which basically is a site that moves or changes like it has a database associated with it, moving text, images and movies, a lot of flash or customer log ins or even sites that let people fill out online forms and send information. Anytime a site has moving pieces and or allows the user to input info; when its interactive like that it is called dynamic and is the most expensive. Reason being is theres not only design going on but scripting and programing. They have to come up with a html / css or flash frame your site and write a program to process the information the user might be plugging in. Also the designer has to find a host if they aren't a host themselves that supports the languages they're programing all this in. For example not every single web server supports "perl," as a web programming language so if you get a designer thats proficient in perl you'll have to find a host whose server understands that language. Most host will probably understand that so I wouldn't worry too much, i'd only worry about programming languages like "cold fusion," which was created mainly to go with flash sites. Anyway these dynamic sites can cose in the thousands ranging from $1,000 to 2 3 and even close to 10,000 depending on how huge your site is. If you're making something as dynamic as youtube or myspace then its gonna be way over $5,000. It'll prob b e the price of a car.

It sounds like you want a simple static site displaying a few pics and some info about your business, something nice and professional looking using web 2.0 colors, classy. That shouldn't cost too much depending on who builds it. If its a company, small business or professional designer then he or she will not take the job for less than 150 - 200 dolllars. Anything less is not worth their time cause you figure they're getting paid at least 20 bucks an hr or more. you giving them like 100 bucks isn't even a whole days pay! Now if you find an intern or college student or someone on craigslist who does this as a hobby then they'd probably only charge you $100. I'd do it for $100 dollars.

Oh theres another thing I want to share with you and I hope this doesn't make your head spin but creating a website and hosting it are two SEPERATE THINGS! Host are people who own servers (special machines that allow multiple people to acess it's content via the web). Usually designers have 2 or 3 hosting companies they do business with, they build the site on their computer and upload these files onto the host's server via some sort of web page. they register a user name and password which gives them direct access to those files online. Hosting is just like a subscription, you are asked what type of plan you want: monthly or yearly. Really good host have different types of month plans, not all of them allow you to pay month to month, most will only offer service if you sign up for minimum of 3 months. whoever designs your site will ask for a certain dollar amount OVER WHAT THEY WANT THEIR PAY TO BE. this isn't cause they're greedy, this is to pay the host for carrying your site for a set period of time. Once that time is up you'll have to renew. This is what is called THE GOLDEN KEY. Basically the designer is holding your sites content, has all the acess to it and controls the passwords and is charging you a certain amount every month or so. The amount hes asking you to renew the site is gonna be a few dollars over what it really cost cause he wants to be compensated for the time hes taking out to renew it. Once you no longer pay them you pretty much lose the site and they sell it to somebody else, I warn you DO NOT GET INTO THIS KIND OF SITUATION. If someone builds your site you should get the password to access stuff and it should be in your name UNLESS YOU MAKE HIM CREATE EVERYTHING FROM SCRATCH, LIKE YOU HAVE NO LOGO OR NOTHING, PICTURES, NOTHING. If thats the case then he deserves to keep the rights till he sells them to you. Personally I'd design it for you, upload it to a host, pick a cost efficent subscription and send
