if you go to forbs web site you can see how its rated, its has 4 particular point each rated on a 1-100 scale
and yes its international, david beckham was 27 or so, roger federer was in the 30s or 40s

Rankings are generated by combining earnings with other metrics: Web mentions on Google press clips compiled by LexisNexis; TV/radio mentions by Factiva; and number of times a celebrity's face appeared on the cover of 25 major consumer magazines.
This is an American thing anyway. The race car driver issue is secondary really. The fact that Kimi and Gordon married a model definitely pushed up their rank. Kimi makes good money, so its average ranking was up mainly for that. Danica again is a Google character (and a Sport Illustrated model) so the hits go up.
To me it means absolutely nothing. It's just how much gossip you can attribute in this case to a race car driver. But I'm sure if you had to compile this list in Europe it would be completely different.
The fact that there are only 3 race car drivers is actually good. In this 100 list there is not even one American football player in there. Just one baseball player. Four basketball players including MJ. Five tennis players (all at the bottom of the list aside from Federer), two golf players and two football (soccer) players. So, not bad for auto racing after all!
