Koko Taylor Dies At 80. Queen of the Blues?

I still wonder..... why I have little of her. I just remembered the Wang Dang Doodle ( after hearing the Pointer Sisters version and Mom pointing out the original version....I think it was Mom....).

However, in my opinion her most breathtaking work was for Alligator. "The Earthshaker" (Alligator CD 4711) is a classic. Also, even though some of her sidemen with Chess included Buddy Guy and Johnny Shines a great deal of her Alligator work includes the little known;but excellent Sammy Lawhorn on guitar.

I got to see her perform live at the Sunflower River Blues and Gospel Festival. One of the most awesome shows I ever seen there. She rocked it out on, Come to Mama, (a spin off of the Bob Seger song) I was front row, hands on the stage, hooping and hollerin
