Can I get the stem of my Lucky Bamboo (Draceana) plant to grow roots?

I recently (and regrettably) left my plants in the care of someone who didn't look after them and one of my Lucky Bamboo plant stalks has dried up, gone brown and soft.

I know if I leave it this way, the stem and leaves (which are still green and living) will dry up and die too :(. Is it possible to cut the stem and get it to root in water so I can replant it? If so, is there a technique to this?

Thanks

Get rid of all the brown bits and cut the stem at an angle and place in a glass of water, then. place on a window sill.Hopefully they may re-root.

    Good Luck.

bamboo will grow anywhere... prob best not to cut it. just water it by leaving a hose pipe at its base on with a slow flow of water for an hour so the soil really soaks and a handfull of plant food around it..
