Cannot get paycheck from former employer.?
Daughter was working at a hair salon and did not pick up her last paycheck because she lost a key that needed to be returned. She found the key a few months later and went back for her paycheck and was told that it was null and void because it was too long ago. Is there any way she can get her pay?

They couldn't legally withhold the pay even though she lost the key. She needs to file a claim with your state's wage board.

She can ask them to write her a new check. They have the responsibility to do that. If they balk, call the department of revenue in your state. You'll probably have to write a letter explaining the situation so they can address it with the employer.

Civil court is the only way. Going with a gun to get it would not be wise.
