you can call the helpline or send it in like everyone else says. you can even buy a new one or whatever. but i had the same problem a few months ago and used this fix and it worked great! it will void the warranty.. so do it with caution. i'm more of a fix it myself kinda girl rather than sending it in. i'm also broke so i don't have the money to buy a new toy every time it decides to break on me. sometimes it also works if you tap on the xbox several times..

my mates did that i put a game in it spun around a little and then it just stopped and the dash board said 'open tray'

all i did was spray a little lens cleaner on the lens (when the drive was took apart, cus he asked me too) and then rubbed it very gently with a cotton bud it hasnt failled yet :)

unfortunately this voids your xbox :(

when mine did it i bought a cheap lens cleaning kit, all it does is the special disc is placed in and it does the rest after that it hasn't failed yet, and best of all don't void warranty :)

    **if not send it back**

    OR

    **get a new one**

    OR

**Buy a cheap second hand one**

    OR

**Buy a new Xbox 360 Disc Drive off Ebay or something**

    OR

**you can doo all of the above**lol

You can get a wireless adapter for the xbox, but that's expensive (around 100$). Another option, is connecting a laptop to the xbox and using it as a wireless adapter with ICS (internet connection sharing) - search youtube for it if you are interested in that. Another option can be using a switch, which is like a "station" for the cable, where you can connect another cable from it to your computer, but buying a longer ethernet cable is more simple - you can get one in any normal computer / gamers store.

Well knowing that you opened it already, you can't send it in, because you just voided the warranty. You could go and buy a new Disc-Drive, or just go out and buy a new Xbox 360, because that's the only solution if you don't buy a new Disc-Drive, cause you already voided the warranty.

you can buy a disc from the store. that cost 10bucks. it will run a quick setup on your screen follow the directions should take 5mins. if that doesn't work a new xbox may be in order. that's what happened to em brought a new one for $200 and a $20warranty for 3years of coverage. it will replace and fix for free with the warranty.

DO NOT TRY AND FIX IT YOURSELF IT WILL VOID THE WARRANTY. I would recommend sending it in to Microsoft, it will cost you nothing, but you will have to be Xboxless for about 2-3 weeks.

Alright, so what you need to do is call the Xbox360 help line. That number is 800-4MYXBOX. They will give you a website that you can go to to order a new Xbox.

    I hope this helps!

would say call up microsoft and see what they say.

if it has a disc read error might be many things..

i would say its the cd drive. sounds like its going bad or needs replaced.

only way to be sure is to call Microsoft, and see if you box still under warranty.
