My niece always pees in the bed.?
She isn't allowed to drink anything after school, but she continues to pee in the bed almost nightly. she does very well during the day.
Last night I made sure she went to the bathroom about five times between 9pm and 6am. Each time she had a LOT of pee. She is three years old.
Any idea why a child who doesn't drink anything after 4:30(ish) would have so much pee in her body?
my question isn't "is there anything that can catch all that pee?"
the question is "Do you know of any medical reason that she might retaining water like that?"
thanks
She's not dehydrated. she drinks a lot of fluids during the day.

Restricting fluids may make the problem worse! If you're dehydrated, then your body produces a chemical to keep it from creating pee. The same chemical is what keeps you from creating as much at night, so if a child uses it all up during the day, and isn't old enough to consistently wake up when she needs to go, she'll pee the bed.
Have her drink water, nothing with sugar and definitely nothing with caffeine, when she's thirsty. Take her to the bathroom before bed and put her in pull-ups at night. It's not something to worry about. Until she's just older, the only problem is that it's a mess.

She doesn't get anything to drink with her supper? That's not right. Why is she up so many times between 9pm-6am? Let the girl sleep. She may not have complete control of her bladder yet, that's not uncommon for a 3 yr old to have accidents at night. Don't give her anything to drink 1-2 hrs before bed, have her go potty before bed, but her in night time diapers, & let her sleep. She'll outgrow it.

at 3 years old you cant expect her to not wet the bed. Eventually her body will be able to control itself during the night but until then you cant expect to much. Most Dr.s say you cant expect a kid to be consistantly dry at night until 6 years old.
As far as how much she urinating it depends on what she drank up to 7 hours before she went to bed and how fast she metabilizes liquids. I wouldnt restrict to much fluids though, she could get dehydrated.

she needs to wear pull ups at night. She is still at the young stages of potty training. You shouldnt keep her from drinking that early in the evening, she needs to drink. After 7 I would not give her anything else.
