Which religion, throughout it's history, has killed more people: Christianity or Islam?

It has to be islam hands down if anyone says the contrary the person is either daft or is mentally unfit hence he is not capable of thinking.This faith was violent from it's very inception.

Their jihad goes on till today, they also plundered many countries like Egypt, Constantinople, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan,Turkey,Palestine the list is endless.

The crusades were there because these robbers came to rob Spain, Portugal etc what's wrong about fighting for your land? I don't think you would allow someone to rob your house, and then say it is theirs like they have done to Constantinople now Istanbul. Don't be such a hypocrite!

No religion has ever killed anyone. Some people claiming to follow certain religions have killed people. As for the Crusades, they were in response to over 200 years of murderous islamic aggression. Why do you ignore the fact that the Crusades were a defensive action? Do you wish that the islamofascists would have succeeded in eliminating all Christians from Europe and even the whole world as was, and is, their states goal? Start with 8:12 where the koran commands muslims to chop the head off of infidels, and remember that by islamic definition all non-muslims are infidels.Read the whole koran. You will find that the last half of it is full of violent commands, and by islamic law the later verses supersede the former. Surely one as erudite as you pretend to be knows this. Islam has killed many more people most of them hindus and Buddhists, during the early expansion of that religion into the far east, also let us not forget the armenian genocide, the invasion of spain in the dark ages, and the ottoman empire's conquests in the Balkans.

as for Christians, the inquisition was a terrible thing, but I don't think the death toll was extremely high numbers wise, however the best example of Christians killing mass numbers of people I think would be the Spanish and other europeans and white americans during the conquests of the americas, and Charlemagne killing German Saxons in the early years of the holy roman empire, tens of thousands where killed during that, and millions of native peoples during the few hundred years of expansion by the spanish and others into the americas.Also when the Teutonic Knights took parts of east europe, that was bloody

and it was in part about conversion.

However, when the Arabs went east a few hundred years after Mohamed that made for some really massive war and killings, I think Islam still takes the prize, but good point.

Also if America was founded on Christianity then you can actually attribute the slaughtering of the Northern Natives to Christianity as well. The killing of the Natives was justified to the Christians by their beliefs. WWII, just by it self would cover how many Christians have killed compared to Muslims and I'm being generous. Muslim didn't know about weapons until Europe and the West decided to force the state of Israel on the Palestinians and ever since than the Mideast has gone downhill. Well, in the first place, no "religion" has ever killed anyone. People acting in misguided faiths kill other people. Anyone with a modicum of historical understanding and background would know the answer to this without doubt. Sadly, Christianity has inspired more people to kill than any other religion. If you doubt this, just go as far back as Constantine and get a teeny glimpse of the death that swept across the face of the whole world as the new religion of Christianity tore into existence. Christians usurped all their myths, their early worship places, their icons, even their gods from Pagans...and they did it in a very, very bloody manner. You can then skip to the Spanish inquisition and just ignore all the intervening years of death and destruction in the name of the new god and I think, if you are capable of having an open mind, that you will begin to get the true picture.

This is the dumbest statement I have ever read. I have spent hours going through the quran trying to disprove everyone that says it is not a violent religion. I could come to no such conslusion. I quickly gave up trying to count the number of times the quran flat out tells true believers to kill unbelievers, cut off limbs, cut off heads, cut off fingers, burn them alive, simply for not believing. These are literal words directly from the quran. And always issued as an open ended command to always kill whoever you find that is a nonbeliever. This is not even counting the Hadith and other islamic religious texts.

In the bible, there are violent passages, but it is always either simply a story from history, telling of something that happened, not a command to keep doing it or it was a very specific "command" for a certain people at a very specific time (if you believe it was actually from God/Jesus as the new testament obviously paints a very specific picture of God and Jesus Christ), still not an open ended command to "seek out" the unbelievers and find them wherever they are and kill them when you find them hiding behind a rock. (literal words from the quran).

2. When Christ came, he is the one that told people "he who has not sinned, let him cast the first stone" back when stoning people was obviously popular. The new testament of Jesus Christ is what Christians follow, notice the name Christ in Christian. We follow Jesus Christ who set a very specific example of tolerance, understand, patience, charity and love.

3. I could find no where in the bible where it says to kill someone simply for leaving the faith, especially in the New Testament!

The conquests and inquisitions claimed what 32,000 lives? I have heard some estimates as high as 400,000. Jihad has claimed millions and is still stealing land, raping, enslaving, killing people to this day and it is growing, not shrinking.

I am sorry, I wanted to believe Islam is a peaceful religion. I really did. I still believe there are many peaceful muslims out there. Just as christians don't always literally follow scripture to the letter as we should, many muslims don't either. But, the religion will always inspire mass murdering and pillaging becuse it simply is a violent religion. There is simply no denying it after reading the Quran. There is good stuff in the book, yes, but the simple fact of the matter is, it tells the faithful to kill everyone who doesn't believe as they do, period.

No matter how much you want to believe every religion is just wonderful, peaceful, loving and we all should live in a wonderful la-la-land...Islam simply isn't one of the peaceful religions.

Both religions have used violence throughout their history. Look at all of the Islamic invasions of Europe in the Dark Ages and of the Balkans by the Turks and the Muslim invasions of India. It would be an exercise in futility to try to "keep score" about which one was more violent. But Islam cannot claim to be more peaceful than christianity.

A professor of religion told my class these estimates once:

Islam 560 million (280 million slaves, in addition)

Christianity 260 million (uncertain number of slaves they did not have a slave industry and the slavery in the Southern US states was not a religious mandate)

Judaism (insignificant, perhaps a few millions)

Hinduism/Sikhism (sketchy, 100-200 million, most of whom were Muslim invaders trying to wipe out Hindus and Sikhs).

There were others, he had a long list but I don t recall the rest.

WWI, WWII, Some please tell me Muslims started all this war thing! NO!!!! This are wars that killed more than 100 million people and the people who participated in it are Christians not Muslims!! The thing here is we should not be asking which religion killed the most or whatever, we should be thinking of how to live in peace with all types of religions!! Peace to you all!
