I've not come across this on chocolate before but as I took some photo's of a customized car that were "transferred" to car shaped cake at least I knew where to look for you.

Because of it's surface printing directly on to chocolate looks like a non starter (if you could get it thin enough and coat it with a thin layer of gelatin it would probably work - not to dissimilar to how photopaper holds printer ink. The most common carriers are icing sheets and rice (or other edible papers), and you'll need to use edible ink. This highlights one of the issues with printing on food - the need for a white(ish) background - would a thin layer of icing aesthetically damage your chocolate? Thanks to it's ink tank system Canon printers are the printer of choice for this task (though the ink is available for other systems).

If you want more information the key is to google for "edible printer ink chocolate" and see what that comes up with. Good luck with this, oh and by the way, the lad whose car I took the photos off was dumbfounded when he was presented with the 3D cake model of his car!
