How long can I keep homemade soup stock in the refrigerator?

I made it and put it in the fridge, the pot still has the fat layer on top of the stock.

If in the fridge its still good and its a plus the fat layer is on top - skim the fat and place in containers and freeze - I have kept mine up to 6 months

Three days should be the max. Treat it as you would any meat product. The fat on top does not stop the stock from spoiling. Put in quart or pint canning jars and freeze until needed.

The golden rule for any food the was warmed up then put in the fridge is 72 hours (three days).

But if you do want to keep it longer, then put it in the freezer.

I go 3 days, tops. Then it gets portioned up and into the freezer. I love homemade stock.

Only good for a few days. I recommend removing the fat layer and storing in containers in the freezer - it will last for months.

3 days. Will go sour past day 4. Don't freeze it after day 3 - freeze it when fresh & you can safely keep it for several months.
