Why does my computer/browser redirect me when I search?

When I search for something simple like wikipedia, it says, "redirect" and I end up somewhere else, usually on an advertisement page. How do I fix this? Can I change my settings or something?

Update:

I ran malewarebytes and it found nothing. My machine is clean, so now what? btw, I have nod 32, and it also found nothing.

gotta be a virus... internet surfing needs a good AV program and frequent update, and if you use Mozilla you could use ABP (Ad-Block-Plus) Application to block the annoying pop-up ads

I use Nod-32 for my PC AV and so far it never failed me yet...

You have malware that is redirecting your browser. Try running Malwarebytes.

unfortunately you have malware on your system; wither a virus or spyware.

Scan your system with your favorite tool or try one of the following

    antivirus

    AVG

    McAfee

    kapersky

    Spyware

    ad-aware

    spybot
