Better to have more ram, or faster ram?
I recently picked up a stick of ram and put it in my computer. I got it free so, why not?
Before I added the new stick I had
512Mb running at 400Mhz
with the new stick I have
768Mb running at 266MHz
My Question is: I am better off with or without the extra stick?
As a note, I've been running for about a week with the extra stick, and haven't really noticed any change.

you don't notice changes in RAM unless you're using resource extensive programs such as games, audio or video editing or photo retouching software. Having more ram is better than having faster RAM when the computer's overloaded with data to be processed. Faster RAM may help in normal non-intensive processes better but more RAM is always king.
