Buy a refurbished Xbox 360 from GameStop and it dies?
I plan on buying an Xbox but GameStop sells refurbished ones cheaper. I also head Xbox 360's weren't the most reliable systems because they get like the Red Ring of Death or the E74 error or something. If I buy Xbox from GameStop, are the refurbish under warranty from them and will they fix or replace it if it dies? Or is it better to call Microsoft?

If you can buy new, you're practically guaranteed to have a working system without a chance of RRoD
if not Gamestop is a great option while not priced they best they do offer great support. If you happen to get a bad system call microsoft first they tend to give you another often better system. If its no longer covered by Microsoft then return it to gamestop. They'll gladly replace it with another system, and if its past their warranty you can always buy a 2nd xbox while returning the broken one for a full refund.

I have a refurbished xbox 360 from game stop when I called Microsoft to see if the warranty was full coverage they said yes. That being said I have not had trouble with it, also if it has a hdmi plug on the back it should be a newer model that had the heat problem resolved so no red rings of death should happen. Just be sure to keep it in a well ventilated place. Any doubts and you should call Microsoft. Good luck

Just put a few more dollars and buy a new system, the new 360's are RROD proof and will not f*ck up. You might get an RROD used system because some are from way back in the days when the 360 had problems.
