Jesus the anti-christ?
I've noticed a formula here, 'is (insert name of person they don't like) the anti-christ?" is a common question. But the anti-christ can be applied to anyone if you want it to be, so why bother, even jesus. Don't believe me, take a gander at the scriptures. Ask yourself, what is the Messiah supposed to accomplish? The Bible says that the messiah will:
A. Build the Third Temple (Ezekiel 37:26-28).
B. Gather all Jews back to the Land of Israel (Isaiah 43:5-6)
C. Usher in an era of world peace, and end all hatred, oppression, suffering and disease. As it says: "Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall man learn war anymore." (Isaiah 2:4) Not only did jesus not do this but his followers have actually been the leading cause of war, death, and destruction for nearly 2000 yrs, with an estimated kill count of 3,500,000,000!
D. Spread universal knowledge of the God of Israel, which will unite humanity as one. As it says: "God will be King over all the world—on that day, God will be One and His Name will be One" (Zechariah 14:9).
Where as in reality jesus changed the very concept of god, from a pure monotheistic single god to a qualified monotheistic god trinity. Christians sometimes suggest that some of those will come true in the 2nd coming, but the messianic prophecies that preceded jesus were clear it was to be within his lifetime, not in a second life.
The historical fact is that Jesus fulfilled none of these messianic prophecies and actually achieved the opposite of some of them. How then can he be called a messiah? The answer is of course he can't, he was the anit-messiah. Christ is a grecko roman translation of messiah, so they are interchangeable meaning, yes, jesus was the 'anit-christ.'
So now, any chance we can stop with all the droll 'is blank the anit-christ?" Q's? Or am I just going to see a flood of them in retaliation after this q' get's up? Lol.
Brother jonah, the focus was not really changed. Establishing that jesus was the oposite of the messiah is the foundation for him being the anti-christ. Once again, messiah = christ. Anti-messiach = anti-christ.

If all scripture is god inspired than all the gospels would be in the bible and there would be no 'gnostic' or 'apocraphil' gospels. And who's diffinition of gospels are we using? 1 Timothy is not a defence.

What's even more entertaining is that "Antichrist" used to also apply to actions, thoughts and regular people who were in opposition to the church (or even in the church if they were disagreeing with other members of the clergy). In texts written up to the 1800's or so, Antichrist is used far more often as an adjective than as the one specific opponent for the end times.

You changed the focus from asking about the identity of the Antichrist to denying the Messiahship of Jesus. True enough, He has not fulfilled the prophecies you quoted. Not yet, anyway--there is a time coming when He will do this.
I am surprised and a little disappointed that you didn't seem to compare other Old Testament prophecies with their fulfillment as recorded in the New Testament. Matthew's gospel, for example, has many references to Jesus as Messiah, which indeed is "Christos" in Greek, Both words mean "the anointed one" in both languages.
So I think you're either trying to subject everything to your own approval or denial, or you're trying to prove a point without looking at other viewpoints, or you're not exactly being intellectually honest. Look at the gospels, then post your findings. I for one would be glad to see what you find or discover. You do have an "open mind", don't you?

This is one of many Christian responses.
1. Jesus did rebuild the third temple. I'm sure you remember in the Gospels Jesus telling the Jews he would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days. Well, in his and every Christian's eyes he did. His body is the temple, he died, destroying the temple, and rose again, rebuilding the temple. Unfortunately, this theology goes against Jewish theology which states that God resides in the Holy of Holies (which is inside the actual Temple building). Now Christians are temples, because God resides within them. Basically, the third temple is the physical body of Christians.
2. Clearly, Jesus didn't do that they way Jews thought he would, even his own disciples. But, he is in Heaven and is doing this now. Because he is alive, he can fulfil the prophecies as time goes on that he didn't fulfil during his life on earth.
3. He will do this when he returns again
4. During the time of Jesus most of the world did not know of the Jewish God. Really, only the Jews and the lives of those in countries they lived beside Israel could have known. Now, Christianity is in every single nation on the planet, including nations who strongly oppose it like North Korea and Saudi Arabia!
No, people won't stop guessing who the Antichrist is.

yes the antichrist will pretend to be god and do all the things you list except he will claim to be god and fool many by his miracles.
jesus never fulfilled the messianic prophecies because the time for him to rule is not here yet.
you can't bring about all the things that the messiah will do until he sets up his eternal kingdom.
Of course it appears he is not the messiah to some.
But israel has been misinformed about God for over 2000 years now.
The messiah will not do the things said until it is time for him to do those things.
Jesus will do all those things when it is time.
Israel will recognize him as the messiah.
It will happen during the tribulation that will come upon the whole earth
Zec 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
that is incorrect there is no such count of 3 and a half billion killed by christianity. that is a total guess on your part

merely such as you mentioned, there is little doubt that Jesus (pbuh) is returning and there is little doubt that the anti-Christ will come to deceive many human beings earlier his return. that isn't any longer precisely who Jesus (pbuh) accepts, yet somewhat who persons accepts him whilst he returns. That area is as much as us, we get to choose for despite if we settle for him or no longer. And our faith will verify our selection with the aid of fact people who're vulnerable in faith will stick to the anti-Christ somewhat, would Allah safeguard us from him and his corruptions. From what i comprehend by many lectures, the final public which will stick to Jesus (pbuh) would be Muslims genuine to their faith, and additionally some Christians who see the fact as quickly as he returns. yet even many Muslims who're vulnerable in faith will finally end up following the anti-Christ with the aid of fact he's amazingly deceptive together with his powers. the secret is, people who extremely have faith in one God and don't affiliate Jesus (pbuh) or anybody else to Him will see the fact inshallah and could be people who settle for Jesus (pbuh). those are the persons with such good faith that makes them conscious of the deceptions of the anti-Christ. To my Muslim brothers and sisters, take the possibility to memorize the 1st and final 10 verses of Surat al-Kahf so as that if we live interior the era of the Dajjal and Isa (as), we are able to be shielded from the deceptions and be on Jesus' factor! Very interesting observation. I'll have to think about that one. It seems to fit fairly well though.
Good job!
