Well, first, if you're one of the more good owners, you would name him/her based on the gender.
The most obvious way is to look from above, is your fish pill shaped? It's a male. Is it kind of like a pill but more like an egg? It's a female. Go here for the whole list:

If you'd like a funny name, you could name them Gabby(female) or Poppy(male) or Bobby(male). Because when you look at them, their mouths make it look like their saying 'Gab, Gab' or 'Bob, bob' or 'Pop, Pop' Haha get it?
If you want to name them something more majestic and beautiful, you could name them based on beautiful crystals or flowers.
Since most goldfish I know are either orange, white with red, black, or white, I'll give you some names for these.
Orange:
Embery (based on a flower called orchid embers)
Lily (based on Asiatic Lily flower)
White:
Pearl ,
White with red(these can be a mix of reds and whites):
Aurorie (based on a beautiful red flower called Aurora's Kiss),
Rose ( flower:rose)
Black:
Rose/ Rosalie /Rosy (Yes there are such things as black roses) .
Whatever color you decide to get, you should google flowers or crystals of that color to remind you what a beautiful majestic fish you have!
