What types of fish cooperate and live well with common goldfish?
Im looking for some friends for my two small common goldfish. about 4-6 cm. I was wondering if they are generally peaceful, or if they are territorial if I put a new fish in with them now? They are about 5 months old, and I was looking to get possibly an angelfish. Id like to know what other fish are peaceful with common goldfish. Thanks in advance!

Provided you have a large enough tank, you are limited to other Goldfish. You cannot keep Tropical Fish, like an Angelfish, with Goldfish. Goldfish are coldwater fish, and Tropicals are warm water fish.
Bear in mind, for Goldfish you need 10-20 gallons of tank for the first one and 10 gallons for each additional. You also need a filter rated for twice the size tank you have, because of the huge amounts of waste they produce. If you have a 30 gallon tank with a 60 gallon filter, that's a good set-up, but it's maxed out. Any less than that, you need to start saving up for a bigger tank and filter.

Common goldfish are generally peaceful. The best fish to go in a tank with them would be other goldfish. Koi are also great in a tank with them, as long as you have the space needed. I have a comet with a telescope goldfish and they work great together. Smaller fish such as the minnow are great too. Good luck.

Best option - Other Common, Comet or Shubunkin goldfish. (The slim bodied types.)
Angelfish is a BAD choice.
Also make sure you have a large enough tank to support the fish you buy, common Goldfsih can live for 20 years and grow to a foot long.

wiki answers recommends this:
Weather loaches (dojo) are a good choice, so are related fish like Kulhi loaches. plecostomus catfish, coreys and other bottom dwelling fish work well. We have had some honey gouramis with our goldfish for years and no problems.
ehow says this and the link is to a video with suggested tank mates:
Many goldfish will attempt to eat their tank mates, regardless of compatibility,

Goldfish Utopia recommends three fish and is listed as one of my sources. White cloud mountain minnows, Red rosy minnows, Dojo (weather) Loach.
