Pergo flooring at front door threshold?

My husband is installing pergo but did not start at the front door threshold. DOes he use the Tmolding at the threshold or leave a gap and use some sort of caulking? HELP

Leave a 1/4" gap and cover it with a piece of shoe moulding, stained or painted to match the rest of your baseboard. Hope this helps.

Now that your DIY efforts have created this gap you have a few remedies that require your "skills" still further. I am presuming that both the door and frame are timber. I am presuming that you require your threshold to be level with the internal floor finish. This must now be compromised as the original threshold hieght has been lowered by 1.5" by your own account. If I'm picturing this right in my head, then all it requires is an additional packer timber "planted" on top of the threshold with sufficient clearance to allow the door bottom not to bind. This would also reinstate the original Threshold/floor detail behind. Or, and if for whatever reason, the threshold cannot be remedied, then take the door off and plant a timber on to the bottom and refit ensuring adequate clearances for trouble free operation. Or, get a carpenter with the skills, tools etc to undertake the remedial/replacement repairs.

You are actually supposed to use a carpet bar reversed up to the door threshold. This allows for the expansion and contraction of the flooring . This isn t a metal bar its the molding that most laminate makes hae for their product. If they have a t mold, they ll have a carpet bar too.

    Hi,

Best way to finish it is with a Pergo 4 in 1 moulding. Like this one http://www.ukflooringdirect.co.uk/Pergo/Pergo_Acce...

You will beable to get it to match you floor.
