What to do with my $450? Iphone 3gs or megazoom camera?
I have about $450 in my savings account. I am interested in taking up photography, so I would like to get a megazoom camera which would offer me a lot of options. It would be my first step toward getting a DSLR. Currently I have no camera of my own, but I am very good with technology (I'm a nerd) and pretty good with cameras. I have narrowed down to a few different cameras. They are: Kodak EasyShare Z1012IS, Pentax X70, and Kodak EasyShare Z980. Which one would be best? My other question is should I, instead of the camera, buy a new iPhone 3Gs? I currently have an iPhone 3G and don't see a hugely compelling reason to upgrade, but all the new features would be nice. Especially the improved speed both in the phone itself and the network. I am very mad that I have to pay full price to upgrade, but I would still do it. Please answer fast. I want to decide soon because if I decide on the iPhone, I want to get it the day it comes out. Otherwise, I will order the camera as soon as possible. Thanks!

i would say you should get an ipod touch; its cheaper, has almost the same features as the phone, its just missin a camera. coesnt come with a monthly bill, unless you get the callin app.
also, the money you have left over could be used to get one of the pocket-sized digital cameras. theyre only like $20 and you can take it basically everywhere you go. i know its not as nice and fancy as the camera you want, but its a camera, and you can use it for all the memories you want. and its a lot less confusin.

If you really would like to take up photography I recommend the Canon PowerShot SX10 IS.
That's what I got as a starting photographer.
VERY versatile. 20x optical zoom (approx 100mm equiv lens) and has SUPERmacro setting. Along with all the other fun settings of a powershot.
Cost ~$400 and ya need to buy an SD card so you're just in the budget.
Also has very high quality video recording for a digital camera.
If you would like to see previews of photos I've taken with it, check out my flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/36763238@N02/

I would go with the camera. You may be able to do more things with the iPHONE 3G, but with the camera you can take AMAZING pictures. Plus, you still have many options with the camera.

Well, iPhones suck. So I would say no to that.
Get a camera! That's so much cooler than a new iPhone!
Or you could definitely send me that $450... :)
Lol.
