I am looking for a couple of hanging flowers for my balcony.?
I do not get any sun at all where I am, and I was told to get impatience, which I did, and they died after 3 days. I need a flower that I can hang that doesn't need any sun. Can anyone help? I do not get any sun at all.

Impatiens are good shade thriving plants. But if you want something as hanging flowers then orchids are the best pick. They also do good in shade and indoors. Orchids have a lot of varieties. The most famous ones are phalaenopsis and dendrobiums. Both of them have beautiful flowers and they will look fantastic in the baskets. But be sure to not to over water them and you have to be extra careful with them. Also don't try to plant them in the soil.

It`s fine to mix in fake flowers with real ones, for a super abundant look. There are some excellent silk trailing ivies, and you could get a pot of hydrangea, and mix in some silk hydrangea flower heads. With silk plants, you can change your display to be seasonal, spring flowers in spring, etc. I`ve seen fab looking foxgloves in silk that look so good, or chrysanthemums for autumn. You can even make up a hanging basket with good quality trailing silk plants, greenery and flowers. You can be just as creative, with no plant losses, and a different look every 6 weeks or so. Store the out of season ones away till next year, for an ever varied display. Once, on a walk, I found a lovely tree branch, brought it home and balanced it in a pot with stones, got some green twisty wire, and tied in pink silk hydrangea flowers. My tree was very much admired, and until people got up close, no one realised it wasn`t real. Good luck.

The impatients died, because you most likely didn't water them. They don't like to dry out.
I think impatients are your best bet if you want lots of color with a hanging basket. Maybe you should try them again.
