A Small Free Standing Deck?

Details my friends:

Dimensions: 11'8'' x 5'5'' x minimal, probably 4-6'' so it's just off the dirt.

Where should I (my husband) put posts? After looking around I found that I should use 6 posts, with bolts. My husband wants to use 4 just on the outsides of the deck... I do NOT want him to "wing it" so what's your best advice or where can I look for info?

Thanks!

In general, you want to 'span' no more than 8 ' for a deck.

Six posts @ corners and midpoints of the long sides.

At 4-6" total height, why use posts.

The rim joist would rest well on concrete blocks, (Piers).
