How do i care for yellow onion's planted?

The green stalk is now about 2' tall and some are seeding. Do I need to prune or anything to stimulate the onion growth? When will I know they are at full size to harvest? Do I dry them out also? Help!

You don't need to prune onions. If the bulb begins to grow above the surface of the soil, "hill it up" by carefully hoeing soil up around it.

You can pull them for "green onions" or scallions when they're about 1/2 " in diameter (brush a little of the soil aside to check), or you can let them grow to maturity. The tops will fall over at that time.

When you pull mature onions, let them dry out for several days outside, but out of the sun. If there are any with thick necks, use these first; they won't store well. Hope this helps...
