My bunny runs circles around my cat until the cat chases him, then he charges at her and bounces around?
She is somewhat nervous about this bunny. He's a 7 pound mini lop, shes a 12 pound Ragdoll. I've had the bunny since January and he's really bonded with my other cat. They quickly became good friends. My other cat just recently started sticking around for some company. Before she would run away if the bunny approached her. Now my bunny is doing something which I can't quite understand. He does a few binkys and bounces around right in front of my cat, eventually it turns into running circles around her if she does not react. Then after a while, she either runs away or stays to stick up for herself. She usually tries to pounce on him or run forward at him but he quickly responds with a high jump and twist action a couple feet in the air. She sometimes chases him then, and he keeps bouncing around and usually finds safety from her under a chair or something. But I really don't understand this. Is he trying to get her to play and he actually LIKES the chase she gives him? Or is he trying to prove hes the boss or something? It's not like she approaches him. She usually avoids him. He's the one starting whatever it is that they're doing.
Any ideas?
Thanks :)

I live w/5 cats and 5 rabbits. I only have one cat that will anniciate play with the bunnies. I have 2 flemish giants that will attack my cats if they are in sight. In your case, your bunny is just having some fun, and your cat wants little to no part of it. I wouldn't encourage this, only because of the danger that your cat could react w/annoyance and accidentally hurt the bunny. My cats have taken some nasty swipes at the bunnies out of annoyance, but luckily not gotten hurt. If the cat chooses to befriend the bunny, great!! I would just let the cat be, and not try to encourage a friendship. If it'll happen it'll happen.

What's HD? Maybe you have a pampered cat. Mine never watched TV or listened to the radio. But a thing on my car keys that beeped when I whistled used to send my last cat berserk. I suppose she just wasn't into entertainment or anything remotely educational. She was a practical cat, more interested in hunting, so went for what she probably thought were mice swearing at her, or defenseless baby birds - although hunting often got her into trouble when she launched herself into space chasing seagulls off my boat. I'd have to rescue her with a fish net, and if I was tied to my Club pontoons I'd have to dry her under the hand-driers in the men's washrooms. She objected mightily to that. I suppose she felt embarrassed with fellers coming in and out and remarking on her plight. One has to be careful about the feelings of *******. (OH DEAR - I've upset Aunt Agatha!) Anyway I wouldn't expect much sense from a male cat. In my experience the males of any species never have as much common sense as the females. It's one of the reason Arabs preferred mares to stallions for real work.

Your bunny likes the chase! Some bunnies are very brave! My female has lunged at an 80lbs husky/shepherd before and she's 11!!! Males aren't known to be dominant, not like females. I think he's playing! Bunnies are very quick on their feet, and give a great chase, he's teasing the cat! lol

Your rabbit is trying to play with the cat. My rabbit does the same thing to my dog. The dog playfully snaps at him but never bites. The dog also pushes the rabbit with her nose.
My cat however does not like the rabbit but tolerates him. when the rabbit starts to annoy the cat the cat swats at him and runs away the rabbit always seems to move fast enough to get away.

It sounds like playing to me. I bet it is relly cute to watch. Maybe you need to video them at play. Animal lovers love that stuff.
