Times are different now as to Jefferson's time it is now money that controls congress not the people. Elected officials cared about the people that elected them then. Big business will be the downfall of our country, look at the mess it has created now and the government has to bail them out. Eventually will self destruct.

No, I don't think they learn much about it. When I was in school, we had to learn the preamble in order to graduate. Now, I don't think they even discus it in school anymore. That's why a constitutional lawyer violates his duties and lies in office. Moslem's did not create the compass. It existed long before Mohamed. It was the Greeks that invented Algebra.

Wasn't Jefferson a slaveholder? Doesn't that mean that every wise thing that he ever said is tainted by that fact?
