How can I improve my lack of focus?

Hi there,

I have a terrible time focusing on anything. When I'm trying to write (and writing is very important to me) I keep playing on the internet instead, or letting other things distract me. When I NEED to work on art, like if I'm being paid for it, I can't seem to make myself do it. However when I need to be doing osmething else, its easy for me to work on art that I don't need to be doing. When I'm at work I work so slowly because I just can't stay focused. Its like I have absolutely no self control when it comes to staying focused on one thing that I NEED to get done.

Please help, this is driving me crazy. I can't afford a therapist so anything I could try mself would be very appreciated.

Sit down and prioritize everything you do on a daily basis. It may take a while, but it is well worth it. Don't resort to medication. It can cause countless problems that are worse than the original one. Think before you consult a doctor about being prescribed to anything that influences your thoughts.
