I grew up in Northern Montana by the canadian border also.
I think the wild horses would be down closer to wyoming.
I know there are wild horses in nevada and wyoming and the dakotas.

Yes, I noticed a small herd of 6. The stallion used to be black (so stereotypical!), and there used to be a chestnut mare with a lovely pink dun foal, and one other mare that used to be bay with a darker bay foal. Cute! There used to be additionally an lovely pony that used to be a distinctive smoky dapple grey pinto with a creamy mane and tail! I'd on no account visible whatever find it irresistible, it used to be potent! We have been in an excessively remoted, quiet location in Colorado after we noticed them at the aspect of a grime avenue that we would taken for a laugh, there were not any residences or fencing at any place close, simply fields and hills! Although I do not are living in Colorado, it is a very lovely state; I are living in California!

I grew up there and don't remember any wild horses. Of course, I lived almost on the Canadian border so there may have been some closer to Yellowstone park.
