Santonio Holmes Drug Charge and NFL Drug Policy?

The drug charges against Holmes were dropped on a legal technicality.

Will the NFL address his possession of drugs with appropriate discipline?

Update:

imspencr

Charges were dropped because the judge ruled the police did not have the authority to stop his car.

However, once stopped Holmes told the police of the drugs in the car and where to find the drugs. There was no question of possession of drugs by Holmes.

It happened earlier in the Season, and the Steelers suspended him a game. I'm not sure what actions the NFL took, but I'm sure they already took care of it as much as they are going to.

The devil's in the details. The charges were dropped, but is there probable cause for the NFL to require drug testing? Also, if the NFL does require a test, he might test negative, as the arrest took place some time ago. What evidence is there then? I suspect the players' union will strictly limit evidence, as the evidence was thrown out of the legal system. We'll see what happens though, but I highly doubt he could be disciplined by the league now.

The NFL is way too far up the Rooneys' buttholes to ever expect them to receive anything but the most beneficial treatment ever. This past off-season when Goodell was punishing every player in trouble with the law that he could get his hands on, he completely ignored James Harrison's arrest for domestic violence.

The NFL won't do anything to the Steelers unless they straight-out axe murder an opposing quarterback on the field.

The Steelers get special treatment all the way from Goodell to the refs.

Tomlin did suspend him for one game but I think that the NFL should also discipline him because he admitted possesion. I also think Harrison should be suspended or at least fined.

If the nfl has proof he had drugs then he most likely will be put on a list of drug offends and tested if it is his first problem if it is not then he will more then likely be suspended a game or two

Pot should be legalized. It's not like anyone gets a performance benefit from smoking weed.

(note: I say this as someone who has never smoked pot)
