Do you notice an improvement when...?
When you have downloaded Window`s regular updates (especially the longer ones) do you notice any difference in the efficiency of your computer?
I`ve just downloaded a bundle of 11 updates (it took all night) and I haven`t noticed any particular difference or improvement.

Well, most of the updates are just fixes to some security holes in the system. And some of the updates are for other Microsoft Windows software, such as Microsoft Office, Windows Live applications, and Microsoft Expression. So, they (in most cases) don't increase performance of PC they just make it more secure.

Many of these patch security holes in Windows. The improvement is that your computer is less available to hackers and malicious software exploits.
Also, some bug fixes will not be noticed by all users.
It is always a good idea to do at least the critical updates.
