why won't my 9month old baby eat?

My sons always been fine with food, he's at stage 2 at the moment. he's been on solids since he was 4/5months. he loves his food but the past couple of days hes not been eating and today hes not ate anything except 2 yoghurts, half a breadstick and a small slice of apple. he's not had any of his food like cottage pie that he normally would scoff down and no porridge in the morning which he would also normally scoff down. He's got no teeth yet so maybe he's teething but is it that bad for some that they just dont eat at all? please help, i dont know what to do, i tried to force feed him but i dont want to hurt him and he just spits it out anyway. He is really drowsy too - probably from the lack of food!

You really should be calling his pediatrician! He may be dehydrated. Is he wetting his diper still? Does he have tears when he cries? If he's not dehydrated, make sure he's drinking something with some nutrition in it, and it may be he's sick or teething. Will he drink a smoothie like bananas/strawberries/baby supplement powder or milk or something? Also, kids start going though phases at about that point where they eat everything in site, often when toddlers as much as a grown person, then they don't eat hardly at all for a few days during which time they often grow. But I'd be more worried about him being sick or dehydrated.

is he still taking a bottle? If he is teething the pressure that eating puts on his gums can be causing his change in appetite. For 9 months old it seems like he has ate quite a bit. He may also be going through a growing spurt. They can cause baby to be tired, hungry, or not hungry.

Oh, don't force feed him!! If he doesn't want to eat, leave him alone. I assume you're still offering formula/breast milk, right? That's all he really needs anyway.

Keep offering throughout the day but don't force it or stress out about it. Teething can definitely affect a baby's appetite but they also go through phases of not really wanting to eat. No biggie, he'll come around.

somtimes babies like to go through "phases" somtimes theyll eat alot and then the next week theyll barley anything it can even happen that he dosent like carrots one day but absolutley love them the next so no worry just as long he eats alittle but if he starts to not eat anything at all maybe call his doctor

don't force him; he may be getting a little ill; if it continues i would definately call his doc, sometimes my dd doesn't eat that well, but i think it is when he teeth hurt....but as long as she eats better later that day or the next i don't worry too much, esp if she is still taking her milk.....u know your babe best; if you are really concerned, call the doc....it could be many things....gl
