boxer -- need help....?
well my boyfriend bought me a boxer. yeah he's cute. well for a year now we have been struggling with the breeder who basically screwed us over. my question, is there anything we can do to get our boxer registered? we paid so much for him. we were told he had paper and they would be mailed to us because the people didn't have them at the time (this i understood b/c my mom had to do this when raising chi's). however we just now found out the father has papers and the mother does as well, however the breeder never sent the mothers paper work in. unfortunatly i know where the lady lives and i am good friends with her mother in law who knew nothing of the paper issue. i am extremely ****** because we were lied to an we have an amazingly beautiful dog that we were screwed out of our money for? does anyone know if there is anything we can do?
i know the father is for sure.the mother in-law registered him. he was hers in the beginning.
i havent decided on breeding. however my boyfriend thinks so. /i don't know if i want the hastle. big dogs and blood inmy house... that's not happening.

This happened to my mother in law with a pomeranian, the breeder might be doing it because they don't want the competition?
I don't know that you could make it a legal issue, because there's nothing in writing or any proof really I assume, or that it would be worth it if you could.
Do you want to breed the dog? Because otherwise I don't see how you were screwed other than that, you have the dog..
You could probably breed him (admittedly for less money probaby) even without papers
Try getting into contact with them calmly, if you haven't tried since you bought the dog, hell ask the mother-in-law about it.
Next time you'll be forewarned, if you pay a lot of money for a dog, get the papers when you pay, or don't buy it.
Sorry not to be very helpful :D, but at least you have the dog

If you know the registered names of the parents of your dog, you can contact AKC with regards to how to go about getting your dog registered. It's very possible that after this long it will cost you a bit more money to register the dog if you can get it registered. It's also very possible that the parents of your dog aren't registered through AKC. There are a few other kennel clubs for registering dogs.

If you have a contract stating that he is registered and that you would get the papers - you may be able to pursue.
