Im 13 and I'm always feeling hungry?

I'm 13 and im kinda small for my age, i guess I exercise a lot aside from PE each day, i play a sport so I'm in pretty good shape but like when i eat food, I get full pretty fast, then a little while later my stomach feels hungryish and i feel like going to the pantry and having a snack. why do i feel like that and is there a way to prevent it? And is that normal?

Because you are growing alot at this age, plus you are very active, your need for food (calories and nutrition) is very high.

Your stomach is small because you aren't accustomed to eating large meals, which is why you get full quickly. That's actually a good thing.

Eat several small meals throughout the day. as long as it's all healthy and well balanced meals and snacks, you'll be fine :)

Most 13 year olds feel hungry all the time. Trust me. I was there once and I have a brother whose 13 now. Its completely normal! This is the time in your life where you need to eat the most food, get the most exercise, and stop worrying about your weight. You're practically still in childhood!

It's normal for someone your age to feel this way and be eating more than normal. Girls in their teen years eat about 500 calories per day more than adults. This is especially true of girls who are active in sports, like yourself.

Two things you can do to curb this somewhat would be to drink more water and eat more protein-rich foods. Both of these things help you feel full longer after eating.

It's because your a teenager. And you probably have a fast metabolism. This means that you digest food quickly, although you eat a lot you don't gain weight.

I'm 14, fit and am usually hungry all the time too! LOL! I guess it's the way we're made...heh =)

It's because you have a fast metabolism. You can eat more, but just keep up with your sports at the same time and make sure you exercise. Have a great summer.

it is normal because you are using a lot of your energy growing and exercising. With that you can get tired or hungry really fast. im in my teens and i always sleep so its pretty much normal
