There are 2 solenoids in your Mustang. A remotely mounted solenoid which should be in front of the left side strut tower and there's a starter mounted solenoid. Where is the click coming from? Up top or down low? Have someone else turn it over while you listen for it.

Sounds like the old problem that most people have at one time or another, and so many people rush to their auto parts store and buy a Starter.

Go to the auto parts store and buy yourself a battery terminal and cable cleaner. The type that has the wire brushes in them.

Take off those battery cables and clean the terminals and battery cable connector. They are made of lead and if you scrapped the top of a battery terminal, you would see it shine. That dark corrosion is enough to prevent your engine the approximately 9.5 volts to turn over the engine. Your horn, lights, radio, etc., will all work because they don't require much voltage.

Once you get those cables cleaned, I'll bet it starts.
