Will updating my ipod touch delete songs from my ipod?

if i were to download the latest version for my old i pod touch will it delete the songs already on my ipod that are not on my computer library?

    Any songs that are NOT in the playlist that is being updated to your iPod will be deleted.

    If you want the songs on your iPod onto your iTunes so that they will update successfully onto your iPod, then download them again.

    Updating your i pod will not delete the songs on your i pod. If it does then call the i pod store to find out how to fix it.

    First plug in your ipod and right click on your ipod and click "transfer purchases" then everything you paid for on your ipod will go on your computer and become part of your library.

    No. It will still sync the music from your iTouch back into iTunes. I've had mine for quite awhile and never had issues with loss of content after updating. :D

    i don't think updating it will but restoring it will. I did that not knowing what would happen and all my songs were deleted.

    no. just don't sync ipod and manuel add songs you want
