I stumbled across this definition of a referee...your opinions?
"Someone who screws you over when all is on the line. These are the people not good enough to be atheletes themselves, so instead they must take up the pin-stripes and make bad calls upsetting everyone in a vengeful way. Disregard any "official" title around their name, because the only thing official about them is their rug-munching nature and horrid calls. "
It's number 5. here http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=ref...
Although number 4 is a pretty good definition as well

the refs are shocking. Deadset shocking. The way they carry on, anyone would think they think we come to watch them. It seems like the more technology they get, the worse they get. The more refs on the field, the worse they get.
I reckon that in the future, it should be mandatory that all refs would have had to have played at least 50 amateur games of league before.
If a ref makes a game-changing bad call, it should be mandatory he should be dropped for a minimum of two rounds.
I get angry just thinking about them.

And the sad thing about it is that a player hasn't the right to criticize the ref in the media. If they do, they get a fine or have to stand down for a week.

As master coach Wayne Bennett once said you cant guarantee anything in this game(the ball isn't round for starters and it can bounce all over the place) and the Referee can blow his whistle,(have you seen the Rugby League rule book?).Rugby League is the hardest game to Referee in the whole world.

I wouldn't exactly say that about all refs, only NRL ones. Two of my sons ref league and union while both still playing. That may be the difference because they can see the practicality of their decisions.

Lol.
They keep calling Harrigan the best and he makes the same type of errors.
All refs don't deserve these silly rumour mill monickers, they get bullied enough on the field.
Added to all this you have genius milkers on the field like Jamie Soward running around.
