if we had a spare room id use it but all i have is the couch, if i brought some earplugs to sleep in would they block out his snoring?,,

awwww, you poor thing - especially after a late night - the last thing you want is a friggin snoring husband..!!

Since men are so stubborn and blame us for everything, I would give the ear plugs a try. If you can get spongy soft ones, they wont hurt your ears so much. Maybe the chemist has them?

Sleep apneoa is actually quite dangerous to a persons heart and brain so he should do something about it NOW while hes still young...!!

Alternatively you can tell him that he gets nothing (*wink wink*) until he stops snoring!!

Oh I have been there! It go so bad that I refused to let hubby sleep in the room, especially when I was pregnant with our son and working 12 hour shifts. I made him go see a doctor and they ordered him to go do a sleep study. He has severe sleep apnea. The reason we snore is because our airways are kinda blocked and our body is sucking in the air so hard, it makes a snoring sound (ever snorted when laughing...same concept). I suggest you just plain out be honest and tell him you're concerned for his health and want to make sure there's nothing wrong with him because he snores so loud. It can effect his heart and oxygen in-take. If he's not getting enough oxygen, then he's not sleeping well...if he's not sleeping well, then he's going to be tired during the day, which leads to sleepiness during the day and he may be less motivated to do physical activity, which can cause weight gain..weight gain makes it more difficult to breath at night...which as you can see is a vicious cycle. One other issue my hubby has is oversized tonsils. They are blocking his airway and has to get them taken out. Another issue is he's overweight. So the combination of the bunch make it hazardous to his health. Thankfully he's getting it handled soon! *edit - talk to him...and not in a finger pointing way..just be honest and ask him to please see a doctor. If he needs more convincing, have him look at a sleep study website or info about sleep apnea. It can be resolved!!*

Earplugs helped me a lot. At first they'll feel uncomfortable, but you'll get used to them. I barely notice I'm wearing them and I actually sleep now lol. If they don't help you, then I would consider getting a fold out couch. You need your sleep.

Thank goodness i haven't encountered this problem with my fiance' but my mother dealt with my dad snoring constantly.

Yes, many men do not want to admit there is a problem with anything, but it's in your best interest to buy him some "Breathe Right Nasal Strips."

It's what my dad used and they really did work. So first try those, if he is willing to...you can even go to walmart and find a cheaper Equate brand!

Anyways, until then try using some sleep aid to make sure you get all the sleep you need.

The best help is to seek medical advice from your doctor. Snoring can turn into a serious life threaten problem. This can be treated medically. In the meantime, get him breathright (or some other brand) on nasal strips for snoring. Also, instead of having him lie flat on his pillow, prop him up on several pillows to open up his airways.

If investing in earplugs is your last option, grab yourself some Nascar quality earplugs. I swear, if you put those in your ear, the only thing you'll possibly hear is the sound of your thoughts.

He may have sleep apnea. Have him go to a sleep clinic. They'll give him a machine that stops the snore. And you can sleep again.

Edit: Tough. He gets checked, or you leave.

Source(s): Slept separate from hubby 4 years due to snoring!! He has a CPAP, and now we sleep together!

Stick blue tack up his nose it molds perfectly to stop air escaping and is also safe and non toxic.

If this fails use the blue tack for your ears not the one that has been up his nose of course.

I hope someone gives you a solution on here because I am having the same problem. Nudging him is not doing it anymore.
