Follow up to: How to get symbols, etc. into an answer?

Thanks to those who answered.

Now I get it. Copy/paste DOES work but only hard coded symbols survive the transition.

Formats such as subscripts and superscripts just go 'blooey'.

Next Q is do I want to beat myself up to make things look 'just so'?

Well.....gotta think about that for a while.

Thanks again.

Better to use text to convey the message. Use "^" for exponents, "_" for subscripts, "sqrt" for square roots. Integrals and sums get a little cumbersome but the idea can be gotten across various ways.
