Chicago Black Hawks.......?

Detroit hired Scottie Bowman in 1993. 3 seasons later, the Red Wings found glory again. How long will it take the Black Hawks to find glory after hiring Scottie to the organization last year?

Update:

I believe Scottie had more influence on the Hawks when they made it to the Conference finals.......

Update 2:

I DEFINITELY LOVE ME SOME "RETURN TO THE DYNASTY in 2010! I can't wait for the red Wings to REPRESENT, AGAIN! Let's Go Red Wings!

Please just let HOssa go.....

Update 3:

Nice try Space???

Even Scotty can't stop the return of The Dynasty.

The Hawks have a chance to find glory in the next 5 years.

It takes more than Scotty Bowman to build the type of organization that Detroit has...it takes scouting, great management, and a solid fanbase. Chicago needs to show more interest in the game. Perhaps in time they can find the right blend of veteran leadership to mentor the young guys, while scouting the talent that nobody else seems to notice, like Hakan Andersson, Detroit's director of European scouting for instance. Scotty was great, but there are many more factors that contribute to the Red Wings' unparalleled success since the early '90s.

EDIT - Hossa was a big disappointment, I think I'd like to keep Huds around because if we can't match another team's offer sheet after resigning Hossa, we'd be losing a bigtime playmaker. Huds is a better player, per dollar, than Hossa.

The Hawks are still a young team,

I'm thinking they may even make it to the finals in the next two years, maybe next year. They might surprise us like they did this year with getting as far as conference finals when they weren't even expected to win the first round.

    As for the coaching situation,

I believe that Joel Quenneville is a great coach, he's seriously brought them up since Savard's coaching years and then early firing this season.

As of late May, Bowman said. “I’ll just try to give them some information and stay positive. … The coaches coach and are with the team all the time, so I don’t get involved in that or horn in. I can make suggestions on things I see and they can run with them if they want.”

Doesn't sound like he is "doing" much. That said though, having Bowman in your corner can't hurt; the guy is a proven winner and genius with game plans.

The team's rebuilding project is on track. They need to continue making steps forward...that said, to show the city this year was no fluke, I think they need to make it to the Conference final next year. Patience is not Chicago's forte.

I think the hawks have the most promising future in the league. But the only difference is Scottie isn't their coach...

I'd say in 5 years they'll be awesome. Give them time to go through the emotions and heart ache of the playoffs. Plus get a few more pieces to the puzzle. Then, they will be awesome.

The Hawks are young and looking good.....give them a few years to mature and they have a great shot to win the Cup

  • I would say next year by what you said about Detroit

3 or 4 years, once Toews and Kane start going into their prime.

With the young group they have coming up, it won't take long at all.

I don't know exactly when, but within three seasons.
