There are many schools of existentialism.
I read Sartre's lecture on "Existentialism is a Humanism" recently....he is a famous existentialist....and I do not see a role of ethics in his system. So the question how would they live could hardly apply to a group of people. It cannot apply to the group existantialists. It has to apply individually, and based solely on the individual. Everyone would be different with their own sense of what is right and wrong. Sartre explained it as a battle over the essence of man, meaning, they are fighting over exactly what it is to be man..... Each decision a man would make would be his own choice and own claim of what is right ie. how to live.
Basically, according to my interpretation of Sartre which i would be willing to debate, you would have to ask each individual who claims to take his view on man. Everyone could rightly give you a different answer, since Sartre's existantialism cannot have a universal system of ethics.

There are different schools of existentialism. Primarily it would mean that you would life according to your own gut feelings and not according to a plan imposed by an outside authority.
But curiously the whole state of Israel might consider itself existentialist, since its very existence is threatened by Iran and the proxy wars fuel by Iran. Israel lives its existentialism by promoting advance civililization, including educational institutions and a powerful military that's always prepared to fight for Israili survival. The fatigues worn by the Israeli soldier is a uniform of existentialism.
