Which is the most popular team in the NRL @ the moment? or even those gaining popularity?
ie. As far as memberships and crowd attendances are concerned. Rabbitohs I know have had a surge in interest, any others?
Blake MWSE agreed they're both pretty passionate sides!!
Real Deal Do you think it has a lot to do with the "Russell Crowe Xmas message" maybe?

All those Rabbitohs supporters are on the bandwagon never where around when we were getting flogged day in day out, anyway i think the bronco's are the most popular and supported, well they are up here in Queensland
Edit: I would say so, but the thing that annoys me is why weren't these people members before we got kicked out of the comp? to tell you the truth i was to young to be a member back then and im still not because i live in Queensland. But i still bleed red and green

Once again, Broncos are the biggest most supported club in rugby league by a LARGE margin. People who say other team, are clearly from NSW. 92% Of QLD support Broncos, 60% of NT Support Broncos. And about 10% of NSW support Broncos. PNG also are huge fans of the Broncos. Most popular club in league = Broncos. Than i'd probably say Warriors.

I would say the Dragons are the most popular, even in Broncos territory(Brisbane). The Broncos-Dragons game earlier this year saw a big turn-out of Dragons supporters at ANZ Stadium. Popularity should therefore not only be about membership support base in the immediate locality where clubs are based. It should be measured in the following in all rugby-league playing States/TTerritories/Countries. I am from PNG by the way, and the Dragons have a massive following here.
Secondly, the Dragons and Souths have alot of tradition and have consistently marketed this aspect of their clubs. I would also say that the Dragons have a clean record, especially off-field discipline (aside from the infamous Barrett push-ups-in-undie incident some years back).

I think the Rabbitohs just reached 15,000 members.
The broncos have the biggest crowd numbers and fan base.
The bulldogs are definitely surging in popularity as they g from wooden spooners to top of the table and they shed their off-field reputation.
Manly, as premiers from last year and the dragons for their succes this year are also becoming more popular

No matter what, Parra and the Dragons are the two teams head and shoulders above the rest, they're supported by nearly every second person.
But as for memberships, it would be Souths, and Crowds, it would be a Queensland team, having one teams per 2 million odd people helps.

I reckon its probably Brisbane and Warriors.
Brisbane has biggest crowds by a long way i believe.
Since their only 1 kiwi team warriors will get most of those supporters.
Although i stayed loyal to the Raiders when the warriors were introduced.
EDIT: Roosters you gotta be kidding.
I've followed league in NZ since late 80's, Eels and Dragons are not well supported over here.
Raiders/Broncos/Manly/Bulldogs probably the most popular Australian teams from a kiwi perspective.

count out the dragons ,they barely made over the 11,000 mark in woolongong and it was a home game, same goes for the rabbits, canberra, parra, wests tigers, the roosters still get a reasonable crowd ,but i think that the dogs have become much more popular especially now they are playing well and have cut out all of the crap that and just play well,
Source(s): a rooster supporter who also follows the dogs - KoitZLv 41 decade ago
I think currently the Bulldiogs.
They are currently the most form team at the moment.
