  • 15 over cricket league? 10 POINTS !!!?

    Hey guys

Myself and a mate are in talks with local sporting fields and sponsors as we are setting up a new 15 over cricket league to be played on thursday and friday nights.

Basically a game lasts for an hour and a half, your team plays 6 rounds and after the 6 rounds come the finals. (so 8 weeks in total including semi's and final)

    Summary of rules:

    - 15 overs

    - U12&13, U14&15, U16&17, 18+

    - 18+ games will be on firday with underage groups on the thursday. games played between 4:00pm-9:00pm

    - Play from one end to make the game quicker

    - 9 players fielding

    - Smaller fields (approx. 40m), depends on age group

    - Shorter pitch (approx. 19m, rather than 20), kinda makes the game look more exciting

    - Fielding team gets two "power plays". For these two overs (any 2 of the 15 overs) are hit and run

    - 2 signs on the boundary with our sponsors on it, if you hit it you recieve $100

    - Coloured clothing

    - Indoor cricket balls, varying colours

    - After 3 dot balls the batsman must make a run on the 4th ball otherwise is out

    - 2 players outside the circle for first 5 overs, no more than 4 outside for the next 10

    - Scores and stats updated on our website

    - Batsman with most runs and bowler with most wickets gets to wear a coloured cap, much like the IPL.

    - At the end of the season an 'All stars' team will be named comprising of the best 9 players for each age group. MVP player named for each age group, various prizes going to players with most sixes, wickets etc.

    - BBQ going each night

So yeah, what do you think? Too short a format or do you see it taking off?

    Cheers

We're basically trying to promote playing cricket in a hopefully fun and intersting way

  • Yay or Nay...........?

Myself and a mate want to set up a sports coaching business, coaching kids in sports such as cricket, rugby league, tennis, soccer and so on...either in group lessons or private sessions.

Not trying to get ahead of myself, but there isn't really a sports coaching clinic that is nationally recognised or even internationally recognised is there? I think Sports coaching must be one of the only jobs to not have one particular stand out company, You can only hope..... :p

Anyway, Yay or Nay? Do you think a sports coaching business could work well?

  • Anybody rate Tim Grant?

Going to the local Harvey Norman on sat. and Tim Grant, Michael Jennings, Petro Civoneciva and Mick Ennis will all be there signing.

Don't know much about Grant? I mean I know he's a front rower and plays off the bench for Penrith, and I think he's a pretty no nonsense player, and after doing a bit of research, I found out he played for city last year and is only 23.

Can anybody tell me any more? Is he a player of the future? Worth getting his signature??

    Cheers

  • Could it work? I think he's onto something....?

My mate's cousin is setting up a business that....

    - Does your grocery shopping for you

    - Cooks home made meals (from scratch) and delivers to your house you

I think he's setting up a website so you send in what you need from the shops and which shop and they deliver it, you can also call them.

And for the home made meal stuff, he's making it you place your order for the next day, or at the latest 2pm that day, and your home cooked meal will be delivered to you at the requsted time.

I think it's a pretty good idea and should be a really good business.

    Thoughts?

  • Should I keep my ticket?

Was looking at old tickets of probably every sporting event and concert I've been to the other night.

Came across my ticket when I went to see Ray Charles back in 2003 (I sort of remember...i was like 8 when I went)

Do you think I should hold onto this ticket as it might be pretty cool to, in 50 years (granted I get there), pull it out and show the grandkids/anyone with a passion for music?

Might be worth not chucking out?

    Thoughts?

  • If Tim Moltzen was at your club?

If Tim Moltzen was at your club where would he play?

Seems to me the Tigers are unsure where to put him...for now.

He's pretty versitle, can play fullback, centre, 5/8 or halfback.

Personally I'd have him on the bench, he'd be the perfect utility for the Tigers imo

If he played for your team, where would you have him?
