Could it work? I think he's onto something....?
My mate's cousin is setting up a business that....
- Does your grocery shopping for you
- Cooks home made meals (from scratch) and delivers to your house you
I think he's setting up a website so you send in what you need from the shops and which shop and they deliver it, you can also call them.
And for the home made meal stuff, he's making it you place your order for the next day, or at the latest 2pm that day, and your home cooked meal will be delivered to you at the requsted time.
I think it's a pretty good idea and should be a really good business.
Thoughts?
samira, i have no idea. like i said, its my mate's cousin so i really am not sure.

I think your mate's cousin is going to learn a lot about running his own business. It will cost him some money, but the education will be worth it.
If all it took was an idea to make loads of money, everyone would be a millionaire. It also takes hard work, commitment, and a good business plan.
He needs to decide whether he's a catering service, or a delivery service. Catering is by far tougher. There are lots of regulations regarding food preparation. He needs to learn about them, fast, if he's going into that business.
Wish him luck, then help him cry in his beer when it doesn't work out.

Nice idea! But.....
Safeway already has a delivery service, and its a chain, so his service is nothing really new. It will take some time to build up the credibility of the home-cooked meals; not too many people will be willing to ask a stranger to cook for them...at first.
Definitely do your research on competitors and do a survey in your town (I'm assuming this is local) to see if people would be customers.
Just curious, how much profit are you guys looking at?

Sounds like a good idea but there are several things to remember, the main one being our strict health regulations here in Australia when it comes to food preparation etc.All the contents of prepared food have to be listed due to the allergies we hear about all the time, and I'm sure he'd have to be licensed to do so & he would have to endure regular checks of his premises by the health department to ascertain that he was preparing the food in hygienic conditions etc.Anyway I wish him the best of luck, but I see a lot of work ahead of him just setting it up.
